A Game of Rapid-Fire DesignToday you will play the Terratech campaign. It is a physics-based robot building game that requires constant use of the design process for different challenges and purposes. It is also a perfect way to get accustomed to the tools and processes of building in the game. Next week, we will have specific design challenges to choose from.Bookmark ChallengeFor the remainder of the year, I will only use bookmarks made by students. The bookmarks put into circulation must be either: Make sure to click send to teacher. Then select "abjerk" - that's Mr. B. You must complete BOTH bookmarks before any discussion of choice time. 1.4.b Design Constraints. Students select and use digital tools to plan and manage a design process that considers design constraints and calculated risks.1.6.d Customize the Message
Remember when we saved our town from a Volcano in 2nd grade? Well, we are heading back to the valley for a much bigger adventure! Talk with the volcanologist about making your own volcano? I'd love to see how my students would improve upon my design. Learn chemistry with lessons from your teachers. Make colored torches, sparklers, and balloons. Show Mr. B for a prize! Learn how to make a book or photo collection. Print your book, or download it and upload it to Canva to make it more attractive. Sometimes we do judge books by their cover after all. Want to fall off a mountain and not die for once? Enchant your boots with a Feather Falling 4 book. Enchants make your much, much tougher. Spend emeralds at the mall to purchase diamond gear, a treasure map, and more. Mr. Hoots is asking you to make the villages more interesting. They are just not up to the design standards of my brilliant 4th grade students. Program your unique dance! We've learned how to make the Sphero move, but can you make it dance? Use and combine the moves below in unique ways. At the end of the period, show off your moves at the Sphero dance party! move in a circlemake it spin!Make it jump!Make a shape, like this square!Mix of spin and lineGoals for Today!1. Create our own custom animations using the Sphero bolt Matrix!
2. Attach our matrix image to a circle program. Today We will1. Learn about the Sphero Bolt's design 2. Discuss robot rules and expectations! 2. Navigate the Sphero EDU App 3. Drive and use the automatic aiming feature 4. Begin programming Sphero (a line, loops, a square, the Matrix!
